LEARNER DRIVER CHARGED FOLLOWING POLICE PURSUIT AT MURWILLUMBAH

A 20-year-old Queensland learner driver has been charged following a police pursuit in South Murwillumbah.

Just before 12pm on Thursday, local police found a male riding a motorcycle using his phone.

The male rider then sped off from police at 120 kilometres per hour in a 60 zone… later losing control and crashing in a breakdown lane.

He was taken to Murwillumbah Police station, where it was revealed he had just purchased the bike, 20 minutes prior to the incident.

The 20-year-old was charged with numerous offences, and will appear at Murwillumbah Local court.
