New South Wales CSG company Eastern Star Gas has been fined $120,000 in the industrial court of New South Wales,over the death of a worker.
57-year-old Bruce Austin died after he was struck in the head by a pipeline during work at a site near Narrabri in August 2009.
The company, which has since been taken over by Santos, pleaded guilty to breaching occupational health and safety laws.
Justice Conrad Staff found that simple and effective measures could have been taken to prevent the accident.
