BARRABA CELEBRATES SHEARING PAST

One of Australia’s best shearing collections is on show in Barrabra’s Visitor Information Centre.

Shearing tools from as far back as the 18th Century have been restored by Tamworth resident Alan Cameron.

The exhibition also features photographs and historic letters outlining the regions long standing history with the wool industry.

Some artefacts were given to the National Museum in Canberra, but Mr Cameron says he’s glad the historic pieces will remain in the North West.

“I’m pleased it’s in a place where people can view it now, then my back shed.”
