BUSHWALKER PLUCKED TO SAFETY

A 79-year-old bushwalker is in a stable condition in the John Hunter Hospital after he collapsed while climbing Yacaaba Headland at Port Stephens.
Due to the remote location, the Westpac Rescue helicopter was called to the ocean side of the headland, to winch down a crewman and paramedics.
The man from Sydney and his wife were part of a walking party.
He collapsed when the group stopped for a lunch break and was treated at the scene before being airlifted to hospital.
