Merewether’s Jackson Baker has scored a confidence boosting win, at the 1000 point World Qualifying Series event in Japan.
Surfing in sloppy conditions, Baker scored an early 8.5 to establish a handy lead.
He backed that up with a 7.25 to beat his Indonesian opponent by just over two points.
The win sees the 19 year old jump into the QS top 90.
