CENTENARY OF RAIL CELEBRATIONS

Monday will mark a significant milestone in the history of the Manning Valley, with the area celebrating 100 years of rail services.
On February the 4th, 1913, the railway line from Dungog to Taree was officially opened, after three-and-a-half years of construction.
A special ceremony will take place at Taree Railway Station at midday.
Meanwhile, the official re-enactment of the first train arriving at the town’s platform will be held in May, with New South Wales Premier Barry O’Farrell set to attend the celebrations.
