Maitland’s new-look mall is starting to take shape, with work to open-up the shopping precinct to vehicles nearing completion.
$8-million is being spent on the redevelopment, which includes imported Italian pavers, new furniture and garden beds.
The council says, while it’s been a challenging time for mall businesses, it will all be over soon.
“It has been quite a challenge during the project. But one of the things we did ask the contractor to do through the contract was to maintain accesses to all of the businesses during business hours. They’ve been successful, I’d say, in doing that.”
The ‘Levee’ is set to open in the middle of next month.
