SCHOOLS’ SOCCER GALA DAY

The wet weather proved no deterrent for scores of energised youngsters who made the most of the conditions in Coffs Harbour today for the annual schools five-aside football gala.

Students from primary schools in Repton, Raleigh, Ulong and Coffs, learnt new football skills, taking part in a series friendly matches.

“Did one on Tuesday in Grafton for about 190 children which was good, and we got the same response here today, and in two totally different weather environments.”

The gala day aims to give children a taste of football and encourage them to get involved in sport.
