A Merewether man has been charged, after a loaded firearm was found in his pants at a Newcastle hotel.
Police were called to the hotel on Steel Street just before midnight on Saturday, after reports a man had been threatened with a firearm.
Officers spoke with a 28-year-old man, discovering the weapon in his pants.
He was arrested, and charged with a string of offences including possessing a loaded firearm in a public place.
