A chicken farm just south of the border which has been operating illegally has been ordered to close down.
The Cudgen property first came to Tweed Council’s attention last year after noise and odour complaints.
The New South Wales Government instructed the owner to shut down the farm, after it was found to be operating without proper approvals.
Despite submitting a development approval to continue running, Council rejected the application.
Council is also seeking to recoup more than $100,000 in legal fees from the owner.
