OPENING DATE SET FOR OXLEY HIGHWAY

After being plagued by rain delays, Port Macquarie’s Oxley Highway upgrade now has an expected opening date.

The 24th of January has been set down as the date when traffic will be switched onto the new dual carriageways between Wrights Road and the Pacific Highway.

Although that date depends on the weather.

While it may not be delivered on time, the project has come in under budget.

Originally billed at a $158-million contract, the six-kilometre upgrade is set to cost $115-million – a saving of 43-million.
