Maclean residents have been told they no longer have to boil their drinking water.
Just before Christmas routine testing by the Clarence Valley Council detected e.coli bacteria in one of Maclean’s reservoirs.
Recent testing has indicated the water is now clear, and the state Health Department has approved the lifting of the alert.
The cause of contamination is still unknown- the reservoir has been emptied, cleaned, and refilled.
