Northern Rivers residents now have an extra fortnight to comment on the planned expansion of a sandstone quarry at Tuckurimba near Lismore.
The Champions Quarry proposal was originally rejected in the Land and Environment court last year, however a revised application is now being reviewed by the New South Wales Planning Department.
The new quarry would see extraction rates almost quadruple, and truck movements increased to 50 a day.
The exhibition period has now been extended to March 16, following strong community interest.
