Montanna Clare

Originally from Maroubra, Sydney, Montanna grew up on the beach and played all sorts of sport from a young age.

She studied Media and Communications at the University of New South Wales and went on to study Sport Media at the University of Technology Sydney.

Her first roles in sport included volunteering for her local rugby club Randwick, before landing a job at Rugby Australia and going on to work at Surf Life Saving Australia as the national media coordinator.

Wanting to pursue her dream of being a sports journalist, Montanna made the leap into television in 2022 with WIN News Canberra, covering crime and sport.

A year later she made the move to NBN News on the Central Coast, then Newcastle 6 months later.

Montanna took on the role of NBN sports journalist and presenter in March 2025.

She loves covering everything from the Knights and Newcastle Jets, to surfing and everything in between – with a particular interest in women’s sport.
