The controversial decision to relocate Gunnedah’s Visitor Information Centre appears to be paying off, the latest figures show a 29 per cent increase in visitor numbers.
Eight months ago the facility was moved to The Civic on Chandos Street, with more than 5,000 people visiting in that time.
That’s an increase of nearly 1,200 people compared to the same time the year before, when it was located on Elgin Street.
Council says the figures don’t include those who visit other parts of the building, like the art gallery or cinema.
