The party’s almost over for Newcastle’s iconic Fannys nightclub, with news the venue will close.
The club will go out with a bang on New Years Eve, shutting its doors for the final time, and leaving behind almost three decades of history.
The heritage listed building will be given a makeover before the venue is relaunched with a new name.
“We decided you know, Newcastle’s going forward and fanny’s and our nightlife has to go forward with it”
It comes just weeks after the club topped the state government’s most violent venues list.
