A woman has died in a crash in the upper Hunter this afternoon.
Around 2:30pm, emergency services responded to reports of a two-car collision on the New England Highway near Aberdeen.
One vehicle had caught alight, starting a small grass fire, that was extinguished a shortly after.
A female passenger died at the scene.
The drivers of the two vehicles, both men, were treated at the scene before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital.
