Toronto’s Callan O’Reilly has finished the best of the Hunter golfers at the Merewether Pro Am, finishing two shots behind winner, Darren Beck.
Belmont’s Nick Flanagan ended the day at three-under.
The 33-year-old is using the Pro Am series to warm-up for the US PGA Tour’s qualifying school, after appearing at the US Open in June.
“I’d played plenty of events out on that tour but after not being there for a long time it’s definitely got the juices flowing and I feel like I’m getting back to a stage where I’m getting competitive again in that arena.”
Aaron Townsend will look to qualify for the Japanese tour in 2018.
“Similar time zone, it’s an easy place to get to and travel around and if you can get yourself established up there and play some good golf you can have a good career.”
