Lennox Head surfing powerhouse, Owen Wright has taken out fellow Aussie, Adam Melling to advance into round four of the Rip Curl Pro in San Francisco.
Wright out-surfed his fellow countryman, with a convincing 17.54 score.
Fellow north coaster, Kieren Perrow, also advanced through to the next round, defeating Brazilian Adriano de Souza.
Unfortunately for Yamba’s, Daniel Ross, the news wasn’t so good.
The world number 25 bowed out to Kelly Slater and handed him a record breaking eleventh world title.
