Richmond Valley Councillor, Stuart George has announced he will join the race for the seat of Clarence.
A by-election is scheduled for November, following the shock resignation of former MP Steve Cansdell who admitted to signing a false statutory declaration six years ago.
Stuart George will stand for pre-selection with the National party alongside Clarence Valley Councillor Karen Toms.
The Mayor of Clarence Valley Richie Williamson is also considering running for the north coast seat.
