HUNTER SCHOOLS TOP THE STATE IN HSC

A long and trying year of studies came to a head for Year 12 students today, with HSC results released.

Among those were five Hunter pupils, topping the state in selected subjects.

Kotara High’s Andy Kinkade, who studied at Hunter Institution, Newcastle Campus was ranked first in the Electrotechnology exam.

Merewether High School had two students taking the title, with Genevieve Ball placing first in Ancient History and Zeraphina Freeman, first in French Beginners.

Alexandra Gibb from Hunter Valley Grammar outperformed more than 24,800 students in English Advanced whilst Lambton High’s Rayna Lamack was ranked first in English Standard.

More than a dozen Hunter students were also declared ‘All-Rounders’ for scoring a top band result in 10 or more units.
