The stars of Ballina Shire will come out to shine when the Cancer Council hosts a dance gala in May.
Today, local personalities met for the first time before they hit the stage to raise vital funds for cancer research.
One in two Australians is diagnosed with the disease by the age of 85.
“I don’t think there is anyone in the community that hasn’t felt the impact of that in their life and I think if we can contribute and make it a little bit easier somewhere somehow I think it’s a worthy cause,” Ballina RSL Chief Executive Officer Bill Coulter said.
