His clubmate Jackson Baker was eliminated in round two, but there’s better news for Merewether’s Morgan Cibilic at the US Open of Surfing.
The 19-year-old scored a four-point-nine and an impressive seven to advance to round three, behind former Surfest champion Willian Cardoso.
Cibilic will face fellow Aussie Matt Wilkinson, Brazil’s Deivid Silva and Hawaii’s Barron Mamiya in his next heat.
