A man remains in custody after allegedly ramming a police officer with his car following a roadside drug test in Inverell.
Officers say after informing the driver he had tested positive and was under arrest, the 23-year-old drove off at speed collecting the officer on the bonnet.
It’s alleged he continued driving before eventually stopping, long enough for the officer to get off and then he took off again.
He’ll face court for a second time next week.
