Barnaby Joyce says it’s vitally important Tamworth can obtain one of 20 Medicare licences announced this week.
Tamworth Hospital’s MRI machine was unveiled in February, and Mr Joyce says more patients should be able to utilise the service.
“We’ve been lobbied by individuals and I have been making sure that we’ve been in close contact with the Health minister to make sure make sure we get one of these MRI licences.”
If granted, patients would also be bulk-billed for scans.
