Merewether’s Jackson Baker has moved up 10 places, on the World Qualifying Series to 54th, following the latest event in Spain.
Going up against 2015 Surfest champion Alejo Muniz, Baker started slow, before a six got him back in the hunt.
With a minute left in the quarter final, Jackson needed a five point seven to advance.
Unfortunately he fell less than half a point short.
