The Newcastle Northstars have dropped out of the Australian Ice Hockey League’s top four, following a narrow loss to ladder leader’s Canberra.
Trailing 5-2 in the third period, the home side was back in it with eight minutes left in the game.
But the visiting Brave iced the game 6-4 in the final seconds.
Next up, Newcastle will host the Sydney Bears on Sunday.
