A teenage boy has been charged, following an investigation into a series of alleged robberies at a Newcastle shopping centre.
It’s alleged in one incident a person approached a woman in the carpark of the Bluegum Road shopping centre, stealing her handbag.
Following inquiries, officers arrested a 17-year-old boy at Wallsend yesterday.
He was taken to Newcastle Police Station and charged with a string of offences including robbery armed with an offensive weapon.
He was refused bail, and will appear in a children’s court today.
