Firefighters had a tough task on their hands in Port Stephens overnight, as strong winds fanned a slow moving bushfire towards the coast.
Just before 7 o’clock, Fire and Rescue and RFS crews were called to the scene at Fern Bay.
The flames were brought under control early this morning, with the fire extinguished by lunchtime.
