It was the highly anticipated Grand Final rematch in Newcastle Netball today, but it certainly didn’t produce the contest everyone was expecting.
Defending champions Wests blew Souths apart in the opening quarter, at the first change they lead, incredibly, 16 to 4.
That all but sealed the result, Wests looking at their best.
In the end, they won by 14.
Maryville beat Souths Pride, Nova Thunder mounted a huge final-quarter comeback, but couldn’t catch BNC, while Forsythes beat Wests 2.
