There was a close call for some Lake Macquarie residents this morning, as a fierce blaze engulfed a garage at Swansea, threatening nearby properties.
Six fire crews rushed to Lakeside Drive after the inferno broke out just before eight o’clock.
Neighbours were evacuated.
The blaze gutted the garage – destroying a caravan and car, while also partially damaging the home next door.
