For many people, this week marked the end of holidays, and it also capped off a busy festive period for Newcastle Airport.
More than 37,000 people passed through the terminal between Christmas and New Year’s Eve, with December 23 the busiest day for arrivals.
There were 2,000 more passengers, compared to the same time last year.
