Locals now have the chance to drive on the newest part of the Newcastle 500 track, around Nobbys reserve.
The road to the pet-friendly Horseshoe Beach has been re-opened to the public, for now.
It will eventually form part of a hairpin bend for the race, later this year.
Other traffic changes remain in place, while access to the Newcastle port building has been closed for upgrades.
