Avoca’s Riley Fitzsimmons has won bronze for Australia in the ICF Junior Canoeing World Championships in Romania.
The 21-year-old and his teammate Jordan Wood came in at three minutes and 38 seconds in the K2 Under 23 1000-metre sprint, behind Germany and Russia.
Meanwhile, Umina lifesaver and Ironwoman Jemma Smith placed fifth in the Junior Women’s K1 division, crossing the finish line at 4 minutes and 48 seconds.
