Autumn so far has been dominated by a warm, moist, tropical air mass from the north.
Overnight a southerly is going to move in across the Central Coast and Hunter, and push further north across the region during Thursday.
As this southerly change collides with the humid atmosphere, expect more showers and storms to flare up.
Conditions will be cooler, but the southerly will ease quickly and the chance of showers will back off for the weekend.
