There were horrific scenes at Port Stephens today, with an elderly man reversed over in a carpark.
The 76-year-old was walking outside the Salamander Bay shopping centre at about 3.40 this afternoon, when he was struck by a large SUV, and trapped.
The man suffered multiple injuries and was airlifted from a nearby oval to John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition.
The SUV driver will undergo mandatory testing.
