The Newcastle girls scored a narrow win at the Under 14 national championships today, while Maitland suffered a heavy defeat.
It was a mixed day for the Newcastle boys.
They started with a 21-point loss to Southern District, then backed up this afternoon to hammer the Northern Territory’s South Suns by 41.
Noah Shiels top scored with 16 points.
