The Hunter’s most outstanding surf life savers have been recognised for their leadership and contribution to the community, during a special awards ceremony.
Newcastle’s Tim Howes took out the night’s top honour – named Lifesaver of the Year.
He thanked his fellow club members for their support.
“We all know what surf lifesaving is about. It’s about good people and each of us are very fortunate to have some lovely people around us,” said Tim Howes.
