A teenage girl has been rushed to hospital in Newcastle, after being hit by a car.
The girl was struck on the busy Hillsborough Road at Warners Bay just before 5pm.
Her condition is not known at this stage.
The driver of the car stopped at the scene… police are yet to conduct an interview.

She was trying to cross at the busy roundabout, the nearest pedestrian crossing being about 350 metres up the road. Kids from the hight school run the gauntlet of this dangerous intersection every day to get to MacDonalds. The Lake Macquarie council geniuses who should have seen to it that a footbridge was erected there years ago should hang their heads in shame.
