The Hunter’s premier opera company is celebrating its 30th birthday, by getting ready for a new production.
Opera Hunter has been performing sell-out shows for three decades, and there’s clearly no plan to slow down.
President, Mercia Buck has been with the company since it’s very first meeting in 1986, watching generations of singers pass through the doors.
“We never thought that we’d be going for 30 years, and some of those early singers went on to have careers, number of them have actually now retired from careers in Australian opera and German opera companies.”
The company’s latest production, The Marriage of Fiagro, will open in mid-June.
