Northern Tablelands Member Adam Marshall has confirmed local government elections will be held this September.
The MP said elections would continue as normal, except for councils under proposed amalgamations.
Those councils, including Guyra, Armidale Dumaresq, Walcha and Uralla, will instead go to the polls next March.
