A man who led police on a high-speed chase along the New England Highway before holding an elderly woman hostage in South Tamworth, has been sentenced to five-and-a-half years jail.
Eric Lance Fing made headlines for the incident in January last year.
Yesterday he was found guilty of detaining a person with intent.
He pleaded guilty to maliciously destroying property, police pursuit and driving dangerously.
Fing will be eligible for parole in September 2018.
