The bad luck, which has befallen entrants in this year’s Sydney to Hobart yacht race, could prove to be good news for the Pittwater to Coffs Harbour race next month.
Entrants forced to retire, including local boat C-E-X Dolce, can gain automatic entry into the warm water classic.
