Inverell’s Bindaree Beef has secured $17-million in federal funding for a plant that will turn waste into renewable energy.
Although the bio-digester was approved by the state government in December, certain criteria was deemed outside specifications.
“It’s basically saying you said you were going to build X, you built Y, therefore why do we have to pay you and I had to make sure that I went back into bat and said look Y is better than X, it’s a better outcome.”
The meat processor will now move forward with the $43 million dollar project.
