Stephen Lee is Ballina’s best local hope in the $30,000 feature race at tomorrow’s Iris Nielsen Memorial race day.
He has two starters which have already placed in races this year… Yo Ferdinand and Casino Bride.
It’s the second year the feature race has been open to male jockey since it began as a female-only invitational in 2008.
The annual meet is a tribute to late Northern Rivers jockey, Iris Nielsen, who was killed in a race fall 25 years ago.
Gates open at 12.30 at Ballina Jockey Club.
