More than 70 years after Japanese submarines shelled Newcastle during World War Two, there’s been a goodwill gesture showing how the past has well and truly been put to rest.
Japanese tourists, visiting for the Asian Cup, were today given the chance to fire Fort Scratchley’s guns.
