Following several recent incidents, the Rural Fire Service has issued a reminder that since the first of September, not obtaining a fire permit is illegal.
Permits are free and can be sourced by contacting any fire station.
Under new laws that came into effect last month, anyone caught without a permit could be fined up to $1,100.
