Despite most of Tamworth’s National Tree Day events being cancelled today, due to Chaffey Dam’s low water levels, the local Landcare group went to work along the banks of the Peel River.
The dedicated team of 40 was able to continue by using water taken straight from the river.
The volunteers planted more than 200 saplings, and have another working bee organised for next Sunday.
