DISABILITY WORKERS PROTEST AGAINST NSW GOVERNMENT’S HANDLING OF NDIS ROLL-OUT

Almost 200 disability sector workers gathered in Newcastle’s Hunter Street today, to protest against the way the Baird Government is handling the roll-out of the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

While the PSA supports the scheme, it’s concerned about the state’s plans to privatise services.

“40 per cent of the services delivering high quality services, high care services to people in the state will close .”

The group fears choice and quality care will be lost, along with thousands of jobs.
