The State Government has identified the New England North West as a major growth area, showing the region’s population growth is above the state average.
The Comparative Information on New South Wales Local Government report shows Gunnedah saw the highest population change over five years, with more than six per cent growth.
Despite having the second highest rate of unemployment in the region, the Moree Plains has the highest average income, with nearly $40,000 per household.
